Cost, insurance and financing
How much does a dental implant cost at Driftwood Dental Studio?
Before insurance, a single implant with its abutment and crown typically runs $3,500 to $6,000. An implant-supported bridge (three to four teeth on two implants) runs $8,000 to $15,000, and a snap-in implant denture runs $12,000 to $25,000 per arch, including the implants. A bone graft, when needed, adds $500 to $3,000. Your consultation gives you an exact, itemized quote. See our Dental Implants page for details.
Is the implant consultation free?
Yes. There is no charge for an implant consultation. You leave knowing whether you are a candidate, what treatment will cost, and how long it will take.
How much does dental bonding cost?
Cosmetic bonding is typically $200 to $500 per tooth and is usually done in a single visit. Bonding that repairs damage or replaces a filling is often partly covered by insurance. See our Dental Bonding page.
What dental insurance do you accept?
We are in-network with more than 30 dental insurance plans and networks, including Delta Dental PPO and DeltaCare, Cigna PPO, MetLife PPO, Aetna PPO, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Guardian, GEHA, and United Concordia (including the Tricare Dental Program). Do you accept Medicare Advantage dental plans?
Yes. We are in-network with Medicare Advantage dental plans from Aetna, Humana, Liberty Dental, UnitedHealthcare and United Concordia. Call us and we will check what your plan covers.
Does dental insurance cover implants?
Many plans cover part of the crown and some cover part of the implant, usually up to the plan's annual maximum. We verify your benefits before treatment and give you a written estimate of your share.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We offer CareCredit and Sunbit financing, so you can pay for treatment over time. We also accept cash, checks and all major credit cards.
Visiting our office
What are your office hours?
Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; and Friday, 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We are closed Saturday and Sunday.

What should I bring to my first visit?
Your dental insurance card and a photo ID. See our Office Visits page for what to expect.
I get nervous at the dentist. What can you do to help?
We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation for longer appointments, along with blankets, neck pillows and your choice of music. Abby, our certified therapy dog, is often in the office too.
General dental questions
How often should I see the dentist?
Every six months for most people, as the American Dental Association recommends. If you have gum disease or other ongoing problems, we may recommend coming in more often. See our Dental Exams and Cleanings page.
My teeth feel fine. Do I still need a checkup?
Yes. Cavities and gum disease are usually painless until they are advanced. Regular checkups let us catch them while they are small and simple to treat.
What is a cavity?
A cavity is a small hole in a tooth caused by decay. Bacteria in plaque feed on sugars and produce acid that wears through the enamel. Caught early, a cavity is fixed with a simple filling; left alone, it keeps growing and can reach the nerve.
What is gum disease?
Gum disease is an infection of the gums caused by plaque buildup. Early gum disease (gingivitis) causes red, swollen or bleeding gums and can usually be reversed. Advanced gum disease (periodontitis) damages the bone that holds teeth in place and is a leading cause of tooth loss in adults. See our Gum Disease page.
How should I care for my teeth between checkups?
Brush twice a day for two minutes with a fluoride toothpaste, clean between your teeth once a day with floss or another interdental cleaner, limit sugary snacks and drinks, and keep up with your regular checkups.
When should I replace my toothbrush?
Every three to four months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed. Replace it after a cold or other illness, too.
What should I look for in a dentist?
Look for a dentist who explains things clearly, tells you what treatment will cost before it starts, works with your insurance, and makes you feel comfortable asking questions. Reading recent patient reviews and visiting the office are good ways to get a feel for a practice. You are welcome to stop by for a tour of ours.
